’Tis the season for gatherings with friends and family, for braving traffic just to be part of the merry and cheer. At Outback Steakhouse Philippines, they have The Great Aussie Eats, an exciting roster of new dishes that are perfect for merry-making. It can easily be summed up as a collection of bold, fresh, and vibrant flavors.
Since we’re well into the holidays, we’ll play Santa and share a tip that The Hefty Foodie shared with us as well. When they serve the complimentary bread and butter, ask for a serving of their chocolate fudge (the one they drizzle on top of their Chocolate from Down Under). After slathering a generous amount of butter, dip it into the fudge. Enjoy bittersweet and creamy bite after bite. It’s a great foretelling of only more delicious things to come.
Take your pick from the drinks menu while you wait. The bar can mix classics like a Martini to something more youthful like a Long Island Iced Tea, as well as others in between.
Your first encounter with The Great Aussie Eats should include a big bite into their Tomato and Mozzarella Bruschetta. It’s green and red arrangement is most definitely festive.
One must be careful not to get too full before we get to the steaks. But that is very hard when the popular favorites like the Typhoon Bloom, Kookaburra Wings, and Crispy Parmesan Shrimp Salad are available. To make room, this is where sharing becomes more important. Go ahead, you can order more if you really want to.
What the Great Aussie Eats has to win you over is their Chile Marinated Ribeye, seasoned and grilled to your liking, then topped with an avocado pico de gallo. It comes with crispy nacho strips and Mexican-style corn on the cob.
A fish alternative they offer is Hearts of Gold Cod, a buttered white fish topped with a tangy dressing, artichoke hearts, sun-dried tomatoes, and green onions.
Wrap up a wonderful meal with a dessert that’s nothing short of spectacular, the Tropical Fruit Cheesecake. We liked it so much we had to stop them from clearing the table. They thought we had wiped it out enough. Apparently, we preferred to lick the plate clean. Nothing wrong with that, especially when you’re among friends.
The Great Aussie Eats will only be available for a limited time so whether you choose to catch it now, post-Christmas, or for the New Year, better make sure you catch it!
