This Budweiser Lime-A-Rita came as some form of “pasalubong” a long time ago.
Budweiser probably figured that it can tap the margarita party drinking market by making a ready-to-drink version that can easily be opened in a can. As per the product label, it just says that is a “Margarita with a Twist”. That twist, upon research, is a hint of their Bud-Lite with Lime flavor.
Craft beer is really more the preference here in En Route (Gordon Bierch Wheat Beer for Lynne, Arrogant Bastard Ale for The Bastard), but any alcohol is good alcohol, especially if you can tinker with it.
Instructions say that it is best over ice. As it is, the Budweiser Lime-A-Rita does have nice, lime taste. A little bit on the artificial side, though. On a personal note, it would be best to make margarita using fresh ingredients (Healthy, too! If there ever was a thing as a healthy alcohol concoction).
But the magic starts to happen when experiments are made .If it is not yet known, Home-Experimented Cocktails are a regular feature here, with the Philippine version of a Godfather Sour “Ang Ninong” being one of the more famous hacks. For academic purposes, of course.
Add a teaspoon of Kool-Aid strawberry flavor (or use Tang. Those are readily available in Manila), and this becomes a very addicting, refreshing drink that can be quite dangerous. The Budweiser Lime-A-Rita, after all, is 8% alcohol.
Feedback: This is sooooo much better than that strawberry flavored San-Mig Light experiment.
If you can get a watermelon flavored powdered juice, mix half-and-half of that with the strawberry flavored one, and this is a party in every sip.
Just remember not to drink and drive. Because if you do, there is a very high chance you will spill your drink.
Enjoy in your parties!
Detour: This may not be available readily in Manila, so a new quest to find a fizzy, tequila charged margarita version is already on the works. Stay tuned!
